Open doors, close stores busy traffic everyone back packed walking in as many directions as there are people. Most of the city still sleeping, street cleaners sweeping, the business man’s pager early morning beeping. A child in their stroller lay weeping. Ah, even the very old to very young march to take on the new day that comes.
Stand clear of the closing doors, “your metrocard just fell on the floor”, thank you! You can sit there’s room for one more. Watching the blank drowsy faces of so many races as they cuddle in this moving box. “This is my stop I’m opening up the shop the rest will not be till nine. Walking along the side walk over hearing small talk, “did you see that dress I could just gawk”
Looking onward focusing on my destination but have to make one fast stop to that special spot I smell it in the air the coffee pot. A familiar aroma some people with their unintended humor needs an upper order a large cupper of that sweet java. With the first sip like a they’ve been whip with a look of alertness on their faces. I stand in line waiting on mine; please I have time the rest will not be in till nine. A familiar smile warms my heart and the coffee my hands. I have to make that early morning stop for that coffee pot but your smile is just as warm.

Refreshing, I need that as I undergo about two more hours of Comp. Lit., and Physics.
