AS ICE

Are we men or are we animals? We who are suppose to be at the top of intellectual chain. We who are suppose be the image of God. The image of mercy and grace yet we are turned to ice but not regular ice that leave behind water that at lease reminds us that something tangible was once there; but dry ice once we are melted it’s as if we were never existed. Today I realize that some people are ice that parade around in flesh pretending to be human. My brother called me today saying he and his family were witness to a man running over another man, killing him. I was horrified so the next question was, “what did you do?” His answer, “Well I canceled my order at the drive through and left”. No call to the police or to check if the might still have a sign of life. Nothing he left. It is moments like this that makes me loose hope in the children of men. So today I am sad, sad that another human being would leave another to just die. What selfish and ungodly creatures are we! I also thank God and ask him let this heart always be of flesh; may compassion always flow through my veins and may I always be mindful that we might be strangers but we are still brothers.
