New York City a place to discover so many hidden wonders and unexpecting joys you just need look. I've been finding myself in Harlem for the last few weekends. Spending a lot of time with one particular person who I really enjoy the company and conversations. So I might as well come clean right? We have been seeing each other a lot and you can say we are interested in one another. It’s nice to meet someone who caters to your every need and does in with so much glee. I've been finding Harlem rather interesting also the people are very different from the Bronx and the area is a little more mixed. Harlem is still the black stronghold of Manhattan but the other races are moving in and claiming a little bit of historical Harlem for themselves. Change may not always be viewed as good but change is the one thing we can be certain that is going to come. I find myself sitting at window over looking Edgecombe Ave watching the busy intersection and the many black faces going about their business and lives. I often wonderful how many people before me have sit at this every spot and watched the world go by and I can not help but think who will sit at this very spot when I am gone. Change oh change it sure does come nothing last forever. I wonder when the day will come when the black faces of Harlem will only be a memory and when these busy streets are as a ghost wind. So I sit here happy with the now; the new interest but I know that this too will change and I will be but a memory at best and this Harlem will be a legend of the once black faces that walked here.

ummm hmmm, so you got you a little friend now huh? *eyeroll* figures! LOL
Glad your at a good spot in life right now.
Edgecombe Ave on the weekend. I'm wondering if there has been a time when we may have walked past each other. The world is small enough, and now the blogosphere just got smaller. Yeah it is a nice place to do some window watching.
Stoned stoned stoned, stoned love... I don't have much to say on this entry.
great picture!
That's exciting! I love that time in the beginning where you're discovering each other. It's absolutely magical. Harlem is magical too. It definitely has an energy all it's own. I'm trying to remember where Edgecomb is. I know it's not far from the hoe stroll.
There are certainly a lot of new folks moving in. Becky from Omaha is unbothered as she walks her Springer Terrier down Amsterdam Avenue. It annoys me. They need to let some of the brothers out of prison so they can start snatching pocketbooks again and take back the streets.
yes - i have some of those same thoughts when im in harlem ... it has so much history
Yeah I wonder the same thing...time goes on and on...it's nice to reflect every now and then.
That pic is beautiful!
That is a beautiful picture. I am amazed.
Funny, when I was reading what you wrote, I have to tell you that I, so very often think the same exact way you do: how many people before me have sit at this every spot and watched the world go by.... Everywhere I go I think this. Am I just a hopeless romantic?
I think things on that line when looking out my window. Like if I become famous or well known for something who will be sleeping in my room when I'm on tv. Or who has occupied my space. Or when walking down the street, it's like. "I could be stepping in the same place someone great stepped in, if and when I become someone great they'll be stepping where I'm stepping."
And especially in Harlem you could be where Langston ate or something. TOO HOT!
